COMMUNITY HEALTH SERVICES assures access to health care, prevention and treatment of communicable disease, and provide nurse case management for General Assistance clients and high-risk pregnant women and children.
ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE includes a public health nurse-staffed Information & Referral Call Center (441-8065) available Mon–Fri 8 am-4:30 pm. This service links individuals and families to appropriate community health care agencies and provides health information and case management.
COMMUNICABLE DISEASE includes the Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI) Clinic, HIV/AIDS Counseling and Testing, and Immunizations.
STI CLINIC provides diagnosis, treatment, follow-up, and education for persons with known or suspected sexually transmitted infections within Lancaster County. Services include screening for sexually transmitted infections including HIV, treatment for persons diagnosed with sexually transmitted infections and their contacts, follow-up on diagnosed patients and their contacts, referral to private physicians as necessary, and sexually transmitted infection information and education. Days & Hours: Tue 1 pm–3 pm and Thu 5 pm–7 pm
HIV/AIDS COUNSELING AND TESTING is a highly confidential program which provides education and screening for any person who is concerned about possible exposure to the HIV Virus. Counseling and testing services are provided for walk-ins or by appointment, which are made on a first name basis only, and are available in the daytime and some evening hours. Services can be provided confidentially or anonymously. Same day results are given. Trained counselors provide both pre- and post-test counseling, and referrals are made as appropriate.
