PROMOTES and strengthens cultural awareness by teaching cultural traditions among Native Americans
FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES offers emergency services, referrals and case management of basic necessities to low income families and individuals of all racial and ethnic groups. Diapers, low income Star Tran monthly passes, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, and holiday gift giving programs are offered. Emergency rental or utility bill payment assistance to American Indian persons with eviction or disconnect notices may be provided, funds permitting.
FOOD PROGRAMS include commodity food to elderly, and pregnant women, or mothers with young children to age 6 on a monthly basis. Perishable food distribution is held twice weekly on Tuesdays at 1pm and Thursdays at 10am. Emergency food pantry applications accepted Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 1-3pm. Senior DinerÂ’s lunch served daily from 11:30am-12:30pm, free of charge.
HOMEOWNERSHIP PROGRAM provides pre-purchasing counseling. This program is designed to offer homeownership and housing rehabilitation opportunities to eligible Native American individuals, families, tribes and Tribally Designated Housing Entities on their native lands and within an approved Indian area as defined by HUD.
HOUSING PROGRAM based in the city of Lincoln this program has over 142 units of rental housing for low-income families, elderly and handicapped residents. The housing properties include three complexes for the elderly and two for low-income. These units are managed by a private management company and Indian Center, Inc.

NEBRASKA INDIAN HEALTHY MARRIAGE PROJECT is designed to increase the number of Native American children raised by two parents in a healthy relationship through the use of culturally appropriate training materials. This project will help couples and individuals develop the skills and knowledge needed to form and sustain a healthy relationship.
NEBRASKA URBAN INDIAN CIRCLE OF CARE PROJECT will provide the urban Indian communities of Lincoln and Omaha with tools and resources to plan and design a holistic, community-based system of care to support mental health and wellness for their children, youth and families. Families and youth will work in partnership with public and private organizations to design mental health services and supports that are effective, that build on the strengths of individuals and address each person's cultural needs.

FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES offers emergency services, referrals and case management of basic necessities to low income families and individuals of all racial and ethnic groups. Diapers, low income Star Tran monthly passes, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance, and holiday gift giving programs are offered. Emergency rental or utility bill payment assistance to American Indian persons with eviction or disconnect notices may be provided, funds permitting.
FOOD PROGRAMS include commodity food to elderly, and pregnant women, or mothers with young children to age 6 on a monthly basis. Perishable food distribution is held twice weekly on Tuesdays at 1pm and Thursdays at 10am. Emergency food pantry applications accepted Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 1-3pm. Senior DinerÂ’s lunch served daily from 11:30am-12:30pm, free of charge.
HOMEOWNERSHIP PROGRAM provides pre-purchasing counseling. This program is designed to offer homeownership and housing rehabilitation opportunities to eligible Native American individuals, families, tribes and Tribally Designated Housing Entities on their native lands and within an approved Indian area as defined by HUD.
HOUSING PROGRAM based in the city of Lincoln this program has over 142 units of rental housing for low-income families, elderly and handicapped residents. The housing properties include three complexes for the elderly and two for low-income. These units are managed by a private management company and Indian Center, Inc.
INFORMATION AND REFERRAL to local human service agencies and tribally-operated programs for specialized services, legal services to Nebraska Commission on Indian Affairs, tribal legal services, or pro bono legal services and area senior citizens.
NEBRASKA INDIAN HEALTHY MARRIAGE PROJECT is designed to increase the number of Native American children raised by two parents in a healthy relationship through the use of culturally appropriate training materials. This project will help couples and individuals develop the skills and knowledge needed to form and sustain a healthy relationship.
NEBRASKA URBAN INDIAN CIRCLE OF CARE PROJECT will provide the urban Indian communities of Lincoln and Omaha with tools and resources to plan and design a holistic, community-based system of care to support mental health and wellness for their children, youth and families. Families and youth will work in partnership with public and private organizations to design mental health services and supports that are effective, that build on the strengths of individuals and address each person's cultural needs.

DISASTER SERVICES includes an on-call emergency mobile home with food and water to assist disaster victims as coordinated through the American Red Cross.
FAMILY SERVCES provides food, clothing, job listings, bread distribution and Christmas assistance to qualified persons. Please bring I.D. and social security numbers for all members of household as well as proof of residence.
FAN PROGRAM provides fans, June through September. Qualifications include being a Lincoln-Lancaster County resident, low-income, 55 years of age or older or has documented medical problems or small children in the home.
HEAT SHARE assists persons once a year who have received a shut off notice for utilities. Eligibility includes income, member in the household who is 6 months or younger, persons 55 years or older, disabled, or has documented medical problems. Please call or stop in for an application and appointment.
PRISON TOY LIFT provides men in prison a way to get presents to their children at Christmas time.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES available in the areas of administration, education, community center, Christmas bell ringers, toy shop, etc.
WINTER NIGHT WATCH PROGRAM provides free food, water, hats, gloves, coats and blankets at 14th and E. Street every Saturday night from 5 pm to 8 pm November through April.
COMMUNITY CENTER hosts an after school program, Small Fry basketball program, summer day camp, teen night and Summer overnight camping for different ages (see separate listing)
